Why Your Website Isn't Working — Until You Understand This (Growing Revenue with Your Website)
A good website shouldn't just be “pretty” or “credible.”
It should generate income for you automatically.

I've met plenty of people who paid hundreds of thousands to have a website built,
then just left it sitting there like a brand ornament, never using it for anything.
In the end they conclude “a website isn't worth it” or “it was money down the drain” — and on top of that, they waste time and money on maintenance.

But the truth is…
the website isn't wrong — you're just not using it the right way.

Where the Misunderstanding Begins

Many businesses, especially SMEs or creators, tend to see a website as:

  • An online storefront to show people we exist
  • A supplementary channel to stick in a profile or to link an Add-LINE button
  • A portfolio to collect work or services to look credible

Which is fine, but not enough — because if that's all you use it for, the website is just decoration.

So what kind of website actually helps make money?

A good website should act like a skilled salesperson, one who:

  • Answers customers' initial questions
  • Explains your products/services on your behalf
  • Grabs attention and turns strangers into customers

For your site to truly perform this role, you have to “set goals + build a system” for it.

Calculate Whether a Website Is Worth It First

1. Decide on the goal you want from the site

e.g. → 5 new customers per month

2. Know the value of one customer

This is called Customer Lifetime Value (CLV).
For example, one customer uses your service at 5,000 baht/month continuously for 1 year
= 5,000 x 12 = 60,000 baht

3. Calculate the return from the website

If the site brings 5 new customers a month
= 5 x 60,000 = 300,000 baht/year

You pay 50,000 baht to build the website
= you break even in 2 months
and the remaining 10 months are pure profit

After this, all that's left is to look at your website's conversion rate to calculate the right amount of traffic needed to make that goal a reality.

So What Does a Website That “Actually Sells” Need?

1. A clear Landing Page
Focus on presenting just 1 product or service. Don't cram everything onto one page and confuse the customer.

2. A credible, clear CTA
Use compelling invitation copy, such as
“Get a free quote” / “Book a chat with an expert”
not just “Contact us.”

3. An easy-to-understand purchase process (Process Section)
Clearly state “what happens after they click the button,” for example:

  • Fill out the form
  • Schedule a call to plan
  • Begin the work

4. Proof of credibility
e.g. customer reviews, past work, case studies, with real photos.

5. A tracking system
Use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or UTM tracking
to know which channel makes your site the most money, then keep improving.

Shift Your Mindset from “Expense” → “Investment”

If you still think “building a website means no one will visit anyway,”
it may be because you haven't used it the way it's meant to be used.

A website is an asset that can generate returns continuously,
unlike a social post that disappears in 3 days,
or ads that stop the moment you stop paying.

Invest once, use it for years.
Tune it well, and the site will make money for you continuously.

Before You Decide to Build a Website

  • Know the goal you want from the website
  • Know the value of each customer
  • Plan how to convert viewers → into buyers

If you don't have a website yet, or you have one but it's not making money,
it may be time to “build a new site with a money-making plan from the start.”

A website isn't an expense. Used right, it's “an investment you control yourself.”
